My Yoga Story
My first experience of yoga was in 1993, I started attending local yoga classes while living in a small ski town in Colorado to unwind from an active lifestyle. Then in 1995 while living in Boulder and I started to practice Ashtanga yoga at Richard Freeman's Yoga Workshop and practiced and studied there for five years. An avid skier and mountain biker, I found Ashtanga to be physically challenging and this was my primary practice for many years.
Over time, as my yoga practice began to evolve, I yearned for different approaches to asana. In recent years, I have been inspired by the inner-body exploratory approach of Barbara Benagh and Wendy Bramlett; the yoga anatomy teachings of Tias Little; and the breathwork, wisdom and kindness of true yogis--Emil Wendel and Clive Sheridan.
This ultmately led me to develop a slower, more contemplative approach to my own practice and teaching which is grounded in alignment, breath awareness and engaging the natural intelligence of the body.
